  • 24/7, day or night.

The first job is not the car

Ring 999 if anyone is injured or in immediate danger. Do not move an injured person unless there is immediate danger. Follow the emergency services' instructions. Exchange the required details only when it is safe.

The car comes after all of that. When you are ready to deal with it, that is the part we take off your hands.

On a motorway, reach a place of relative safety if you can and switch on your hazards. Leave the vehicle only if it is safe, using the side away from traffic, and wait away from the carriageway. If you cannot get out safely, stay belted in and call 999 for the police. Follow the official guidance before arranging recovery.

Official National Highways guidance

Cars that cannot be driven away

Damage to lights, tyres, steering, bodywork or safety systems can make a vehicle unsafe to drive. If you are unsure, have it assessed and arrange suitable recovery instead of attempting to drive it away.

Tell us what is damaged and whether the vehicle rolls, steers or has locked wheels. We check the loading method, access and truck capacity before accepting the recovery.

  • Front or rear end damage, with the car still on its wheels
  • A wheel or a hub that will not turn
  • Steering that has gone after a kerb strike or a collision
  • Fluid on the road, or a radiator or sump that has taken a hit
  • Cars that are drivable but that you would rather not drive

How it works

What happens when you call

  1. Tell us where you are

Call or text with the location, what you are driving and what it is doing. A map pin is perfect if you have one.

  2. Get the price first

We agree the job and price before the truck sets off. Any additional work is explained and agreed with you first.

  3. The truck comes to you

Loaded properly, strapped down, and taken to your home, your garage or wherever you need it.

Check who is arranging recovery

If police or National Highways are managing the incident, follow their instructions and check whether they have already arranged recovery. Your insurer may also have arrangements in place. Once the scene is safe and you are free to choose a recovery firm, call us with the vehicle’s location, condition and intended destination.

If you are putting in a claim, whoever you are claiming with may want to arrange the recovery and any storage themselves. It costs nothing to ring them and ask before you book anybody.

When it is safe to call, tell us the road, direction and nearest junction or landmark. Describe the vehicle, damage, whether it rolls and steers, and the destination. Mention locked wheels and any recovery already booked. We confirm suitability and the price before dispatch.

How a price is worked out

Where you are, where the vehicle is going, and what it takes to load it. We agree the job and price before setting off. Any additional work is explained and agreed with you first.
