What fits on the deck
We recover suitable cars, vans, pickups, 4x4s and motorbikes by flatbed. Send the make, model, actual loaded weight where known, vehicle condition and access details so we can confirm the right truck and loading method. HGV and heavy recovery are outside our service.
A truck’s gross weight is not its available payload. Tools, cargo and accessories all count towards the vehicle weight we need to check.
- Panel vans and crew cabs, Transit and Sprinter sized
- Pickups, including double cabs
- 4x4s and all wheel drive cars
- Minibuses only where weight, dimensions and access are confirmed suitable
- Non-runners, MOT failures and vans waiting on parts
A van off the road is a day gone
For most people a van is not transport, it is the job. Every hour it sits on a verge is work that is not getting done and a customer who is not getting called back.
So the priority with a van is usually different from a car. It is less about getting home and more about getting the van to a garage that can start on it.
Mechanically it is the same job as any other breakdown recovery. Loading and access must be checked for the vehicle. Collision damage belongs on the accident recovery checklist too.
Tell us where it needs to be and it goes there. If your usual garage is shut, say so and we will get it somewhere it can sit safely until they open.
Plenty of working vans carry no recovery cover at all. That is not a problem and not a reason to wait.
Four wheel drive needs a flatbed
This is worth knowing before somebody hooks up a rope. Towing restrictions vary between four wheel drive and all wheel drive models. Follow the manufacturer’s recovery instructions; an unsuitable towing method can cause damage.
A suitable flatbed can keep all four wheels clear. The driver still needs to check loading, securing, clearance and the vehicle’s weight before accepting the move.
How it works
What happens when you call
Tell us where you are
Call or text with the location, what you are driving and what it is doing. A map pin is perfect if you have one.
Get the price first
We agree the job and price before the truck sets off. Any additional work is explained and agreed with you first.
The truck comes to you
Loaded properly, strapped down, and taken to your home, your garage or wherever you need it.
What it costs
Our own drivers do the work, so what is written here is what arrives. More about how it works.
How a price is worked out
Where you are, where the vehicle is going, and what it takes to load it. We agree the job and price before setting off. Any additional work is explained and agreed with you first.
Weight and access both change the job, so mention a full load or a tight yard when you ring. You still get one figure, agreed before anybody sets off.
